Johnson has notable experience in M&A transactions, private equity and debt financing, privatization, legal and governance audits and compliance advisory. He has advised on a number of complex large size and cross-border transactions, including the first ever acquisition of a controlling stake by a listed company in another listed company in Kenya and a bond which won in the “Bond Deal of the Year” category of the 2018 Think Business Awards.

Johnson has worked at the Capital Markets Authority and was the partner in charge of Corporate & Commercial Law at KN Law LLP before joining MMC ASAFO as a Partner in M&A, PE and Funds. His understanding of the financial sector’s regulatory framework and experience acquired from working on numerous complex transactions gives him a competitive edge in corporate and commercial practice.

He has advised clients on the impact of policy statements and legislation on their business, through newsletters and legal alerts, and is a frequent contributor in Kenya’s business dailies.
